1. What are the system requirements for installing Nested on the web edition?
With the webapp, Nested runs on the following browsers: • Chrome (version 12 and above) • Firefox (version 11 and above) • Safari (version 7 and above) • Opera (version 12 and above) • Internet Explorer (version 11)
2. How do I access Nested on a web browser?
You can reach Nested at www.nested.me and sign-up from there. Once you create a Nested account, you will gain access to its various features whenever signing in.
3. How do I download and install Nested on my iOS device?
Our iOS app is currently under development.
4. Which iOS versions does Nested work on?
Nested will be compatible with all iOS devices that run on versions 8 and later.
5. How do I download and install Nested on my Android device?
With the webapp, Nested runs on the following browsers: Nested can be downloaded and installed from Google Play.
6. Which Android versions does Nested work on?
Nested is compatible with all Android devices that run on versions 4.2 and later.
7. How is Nested different to other team-to-team communication platforms?
Nested is driven by a human-centered design that recognizes and meets our users’ needs when it comes to digital communication. We emphasize a sense of sustainability (paperless office, yay!) and try to improve the way individuals and teams communicate amid all the emerging social networking sites and overburdened email inboxes that overwhelm us rather than help. 8. Why is Nested’s color green?
One of Nested’s principles is to strive for a greener world. We believe in efficiency without the creation of paper-mountains and we see the future of office work in the digital realm. Nested’s green color signifies our values that support sustainability and want to make the world a more eco-conscious place to live and to work in.
9. How do the services provided by Nested differ on various platforms?
Our services do not differ when switching platforms in their essence; however, to provide an efficient and feasible platform for our users, Nested’s design adjusts itself to fit whichever device you use to retain its user-friendly interface.
10. How do I move my Nested communications over to a new device?
You don’t need to; your communications will be available to you anytime, anywhere, at whichever device that has the ability to connect to Internet and install Nested!
11. Is there a fee to install and use Nested?
There is no fee required when installing Nested and enjoy its general services. Premium and Enterprise packages are at various stages of development and the pricing will be made available to customers at a later date.
12. What information do I need to provide when signing up to Nested?
When you sign-up for the first time, you are required to provide your phone number to proceed. In the steps that follow, you will need to fill-in your first and last name, gender and birthdate.
13. Why is Nested asking for my phone number, and will it be displayed publicly?
We need your phone number solely for registration and verification purposes. Your phone number will not be displayed publicly.
If you are the Manager of a Place, yes. You can access this option in the Place settings.
19. What are the main differences between a Manager and a Member?
Manager is a member of a Place that has full administrative control over a Place; they can invite and add Members; create additional Places; and adjust the settings of a Place. In a Place that they administer, Managers will have a throne icon associated with their profile pictures. Member is a user invited or added to a Place, becoming its Member. Members’ activity level and capabilities in a Place depend on the settings of a Place adjusted by the Manager(s). To know more, read our Managing a Place: Membership section.
20. What facilities are available to a Manager in a Place?
You can create up to 2 Grand Places with the basic account; if you decide to upgrade, this limit will be lifted.
22. How many Places can I add to a Grand Place?
You can add up to 10 Places to a Grand Place.
23. How many sub-Places can I add to one Place?
You can add up to 10 sub-Places to one Place.
24. What is the difference between Grand Place, Place and sub-Place?
Essentially they function the same, the only difference being their settings. We have put the Places in multiple levels levels so that our users would have a clearer understanding of the depth that can be used within a Place. It’s just the types (Common and Private) of Places that distinguishes them from one another.
25. What are the differing types of Places?
There’s a Common Place and a Private Place. By definition, Common Place means that all the Members from the Grand Place (under which the Place has been created) can view its contents, so it’s an inclusive, communal Place — and Private Place means that only added Members can view its contents, so it’s exclusive. Furthermore, you cannot create further places under a Common Place, but can do so from a Private Place.
26. Can I create a Common sub-Place in a Place?
No, because the Common Place policy only applies in a Grand Place; you can create a Common Place within a Grand Place, but you cannot create any further subPlaces within that Common Place — be it Common or Private. You can however create up to 10 sub-Places within a Private Place and further 10 sub-Places within that sub-Place, and so on.
27. How do I invite people to my Grand Place?
The process of inviting people applies only when intending to invite people from outside a Grand Place. You cannot add people to your Grand Place without inviting them first due to Nested’s policies that respect bilateral consensus. You can invite people if you’re a Manager, or if the Manager has enabled you as a Member to invite people. You can invite people from your Place settings.

f you are the Manager of a Place, or if you have been given the authority to add Members to a Place, you can do so from your Place settings.

Yes, you can share your post with multiple people.
31. How do I compose a post?
To write a post on the Nested webapp, you can either click on the Compose icon at the top left of the screen below the Nested logo; select a specific Place from your side bar and then click on the Compose icon to send a direct post to that particular Place; or alternatively, once you have selected which Place you would like to write for, you can type your post in the Quick Post box at the top the page. Writing a post with iOS and Android is just as easy. See the instructions on Composing a post page.
32. How do I share a post with files in a Place or with a Nested user?
Once you’ve composed your post, you can either type the name of the recipient, or their Nested account or the Place they are a part of. For your convenience, Nested will suggest a number of recipients from its auto-complete list, whereof you can proceed to select your intended recipient(s) and Place(s). Please bear in mind that the maximum number of recipients for one posting is 10.
35. How do I add emojis to my post(s)?
To use emojis on Web app, press Space + Command + Control to open the emoji keyboard. On your iOS and Android, simply tap the emoji keyboard open on your device and select the ones you want to use. Some emoji are available in different skin colors; to choose a different colored emoji, press on the emoji until it offers you the selection of emojis. Pick the color you want and post it up!
You can reply by clicking on the ‘More Options’ icon on the lower-right corner of the intended post and choose ‘Reply’; alternatively, if it is a post thread, you can reply to all the authors of the post by clicking on ‘Reply to all’.
37. What do you mean by a ‘sharer’? Why is it not a ‘sender’?
Nested is a team communication service where you communicate with people that are in different Places, which essentially means in most cases you’re not sending posts to an individual person but to a collective community or a team in a project. You can of course share a post with one person by sharing the post with their personal Place, whereof only they can see the post, but either way it is shared with a Place where communication happens rather than with a sole individual.
38. Why do you use the term ‘post’ and not ‘message’?
When you’re sharing something with a Place that consists of multiple people, it’s hard to use the term ‘message’ because it’s a post shared with a Place where multiple people can see it. You can of course share a post with one person by sharing the post with their personal Place, whereof only they can see the post.
Click the straight flash icon from the lower-right corner of the intended post and it goes straight to the forwarding stage where you choose whom to forward the post for. You can also edit the post at this stage. If the post has gone through several rounds and recipients, you can check the context of the circulated post and who said what, when, and why, by clicking the post open to its Full View.
40. Where can I see my shared posts?
There’s ‘Shared by me’ tabwhen you open your Feed, wherein all your shared posts will appear.
41. I’ve shared a post that I now notice having majors errors in it. What can I do? Should I share a corrected version of it, or can I edit the post?
Nested comes really handy in situations like these where you can retract your post within a 24-hour time limit without the recipients even noticing the erroneous post. You withdraw the incorrect post and share again — in a sense, subtly replace — the incorrect post with the correct one.
42. Can I delete or edit a comment I have put under other Member’s post?
Yes and no: you can delete the comment, but not edit it. Keep in mind, though, that you have a time limit set on the eraser, which is 10 minutes. The clock’s ticking.
43. How can I search for a particular post?

44. How can I customize my Feed?
You can choose the Places you want to see in your Feed and you can also filter what you want to see from the posts you are shown.
45. How do I choose the Places I want to see in my Feed?
From the Place settings of the Places you have created or are a Member of, you can see two options: Show in Feed and Hide from Feed. When you create a Place, or become a Member in one, the Place has its Show in Feed setting on by default, which means that the posts shared in those Places will be shown in your Feed. If you do not want to see the posts of a particular Place on your Feed, undo Show in Feed and instead choose Hide from Feed from the Place’s settings.
You can bookmark posts that are important to you. This helps you when you want to view them later, or follow-up on them at a later date.
47. What will I receive push notifications for?
You can select which Places you would like to be notified of and once you enable the notifications, you will receive a notification for every post shared directly with your Place(s). You will also receive notifications for comments made on these posts.
Yes. You can disable them from the navigation bar of the Place of your interest.
50. How can I enable my Search option?
In the settings of each Place, you will have the option to turn your Search on, which means that you will be visible to those that search you by your username or Place ID. To read more about how to enable it, check out our Place settings section.
51. What happens when I disable the Search option from the Place settings?
The Place will not be visible for those searching it, but it can be reached if the person knows the exact Place ID.
52. Can I search for a particular Place and request to join if I’m not invited by the Manager?
We currently don’t have this feature but we’re in the process of developing it.
53. Can I find other users and chat with them on Nested?
You can find fellow Nested users if they have turned their Search option on from their settings and you can share posts with their personal Nested address, although you cannot access the content of their personal Place. You can also share posts with the Place they are a Manager of, or a Member of, if they have enabled to receive posts from people outside of that Place. Nested however does not have a chat feature at the present time, but we will work on it in the future.
54. Can I view who has seen my post(s)?
Once you accept the invitation to a certain Grand Place, you are accepting that whatever you post there, or to the subsequent Places that come under that Grand Place, will be seen by those Members that are part of the Places you have shared the post with. As for your personal Place, rest assured that no-one has access there — except you.
55. My fellow Manager demoted me from my managerial position and has now deleted the Place that we used to co-manage. Can I retain the Place?
This is why we keep advising that our dear users should be careful who they choose to co-manage a Place with; essentially, they have the same administrative powers as you would as a Manager and therefore can do whatever they like with the Place. You cannot retain a Place after it has been erased.
56. I don’t want to be a Manager anymore, what can I do?
If your Place has any Members in it, you can promote one of the Members for the position of a Manager and demote yourself. Otherwise, you can choose to delete and leave the Place..
57. Can I block a Member in my Place if I am a Manager?
Why should you keep a Member in your Place if you’ve reached the point of wanting to block them? You can easily remove them from the Place.
58. Can I block another Member in a Place that isn’t mine?
We are currently not a chatting platform where you would block people you have disputes with. We are a team communication service where the point is to join ‘Places’ that would help you in enhancing your communications and making it consistent. If you feel uncomfortable at a Place with certain Members, then maybe that Place isn’t your cup of tea. Alternatively, you should drop a post in the personal Place of the Manager of the Place to see what they can do to help.
59. I want to delete a Place that I created, but it has Members in it. Can I still delete it?
If you are still the Manager of the Place, yes. However, if the Place has subPlaces within it, you will need to delete them first in order to proceed to delete the Place of your interest.
60. Can I delete my Places all at once?
No, you must delete each Place separately to make sure that you will not accidentally erase something that you cannot get back.
61. Can I alter the settings of my Places all at once?
Nope. Each Place has its own administrative system, and you will need to make changes one Place at a time.
62. How is my personal Place any different to other Places I’m a Member of?
Personal Place works as a private space that can only be accessed by you. You can share and receive posts within the different Places you have created in your private Grand Place, but the content of those Places will not be accessible to anyone but yourself.
63. I keep noticing new people joining the Places I am a Member of. Can they see the content of my other Places?
Nested’s platform informs the existing Members of all the newly joined Members so that everyone would be on the same page of who is to see what’s happening in that Place from that moment onwards. But no, Members cannot see or access the content of your other Places, unless they have been invited or added to those Places by the Manager(s) of those Places.
64. How private are communications within a Place?
You can set the privacy level of your communications within Places according to your specifications. Through the Place settings, you can ensure that only those who you specify will have access to the posts and comments of a Place.
65. How can I be sure my information is secured with Nested?
We encourage you to pick a strong password to avoid the various attack methods of compromising your account’s security. Moreover, keep your account’s settings updated as to safeguard your personal information. If you suspect unusual activity on your account, or your Places, get in touch with our technical staff at email@example.com
66. What protocols do you use to protect my online data on Nested?
We use Transport Layer Security (TLS) as the standard means of performing encryption in transit for the posts shared and received on Nested. You can imagine this as a momentary shell of protection that is wrapped around your post(s) to keep it confidential while it is being transmitted to its intended recipient(s). This means that while your posts and files travel between Nested’s platform and the device your intended recipient(s) use to check their Nested, it’s encrypted and therefore secured.
67. What encryption system do you apply?
We use server-client encryption which is a sure way to secure your information and is used worldwide to encrypt data.

68. What do I do if I’ve forgotten my password?
If you enter the wrong password or if you have forgotten your password, you will promptly receive a link where you can retrieve your password through the number you signed up with. For more, read how to recover your account.
69. Can I choose my default language?
Yes. We currently offer Persian and English services, but we are working on delivering more.
70. Is Nested just another emailing service?
Nested is a service that houses all your communications into one place to enable consistent communication, and emailing is just one aspect. Nested’s emailing service is hybrid and dynamic, nothing like the others you have experienced before. For more, read how to integrate your email.
71. What happens when I disable the email option from the Place settings?
You cannot disable the emailing option, but you can disable to receive emails from people using other emailing services.
72. Can I move all my digital communications to Nested?
This is precisely what Nested was designed for. You can place all your current communications - both personal and professional - seamlessly into one space. You can track your conversations and files without detaching them from their context by categorizing them into various ‘Places’ that you can create according to your needs.
73. Can I move my Nested data to a different platform?
We’re working to offer cross-platform data-sharing services. You can currently share your data by sending them with an email, but this is done with individual posts — you can’t send the entire data archive of a Place.
74. Can I use Nested for all my corporate communications?
Yes. Nested’s feasible features offer an efficient digital working space for any small and medium-sized enterprises (SME), assisting you in maintaining consistency and efficiency in your work-related communications.
75. How do I store my Nested archives to my computer?
We’re currently developing the tools to allow our users to back-up their Nested archives whenever they want, so watch this space.
76. How do I upgrade my account?
At this moment, the basic version of Nested is available and free for all users. The improved Premium and Enterprise packages are at various stages of development and you will be informed when they will be ready for your to upgrade. The pricing lists will be made available to customers at a later date.
77. Will I get a trial period if I want to check out what the upgraded accounts are like?
Of course, you will get a 30-day trial period. At the end of the period you can decide to cancel your subscription or continue to communicate with awesomeness!
You can make amendments to your Place details from its Place Settings but you cannot change its Place ID. Place IDs are your unique Nested addresses and are therefore permanent. This is why you are advised to consider carefully before choosing a particular Place ID.
